In Karaj, west of Tehran, rail workers rallied to express their protests over not being paid for several months and strongly criticizing officials’ hollow promises. The protests are happening in parallel to similar protests by  railway workers in different cities . Rail workers protesting in Karaj, Iran – February 27, 2019 In Tehran, students of Sharif Industrial University were seen protesting in some of the largest dormitories of this campus, demanding measures to provide security in and around the campus and bus transfer services from dormitories to the college campus. Iran’s deepening economic crisis triggers blame game among officials

Image
Iran’s deepening economic crisis A multi-dimensional economic crisis has paralyzed the Iranian regime. While the sanctions’ noose has tightened around the mullahs’ neck, the European mechanism has still yielded nothing of value to compensate for the U.S. sanctions due to the Iranian regime’s unwillingness to pass the FATF anti-money-laundering bills into law. Just a few days ago it was revealed that a deficit of about hundred thousand billion tomans has been hidden among other items in the budget bill in order to present a healthier face for the Islamic Republic of Iran. Tehran’s Friday prayer Imam Mohammad Hassan Aboutorabi Fard described the Iranian government’s budget bill a failed attempt and said: “Let’s look at how many steps have been taken to decrease the country’s dependence on oil income in the budget bill that is about to pass. How many steps have been taken to decrease the amount of energy dependence and management of consumption?” Referring to the impact of inte

Western women must show solidarity with repressed 'Iranian sisters'

Iranian opposition leader Maryam Rajavi addresses a meeting at the European Parliament in 2017. Photo courtesy of - Maryam Rajavi  There are about 40 million women in the Islamic Republic of Iran, over half under age 30. At a time when women in the West have achieved political, economic, personal and social equality, Iranian women are among the most repressed in the world, ruled by a regime dominated by elderly, bearded misogynists. It is little wonder that the nationwide protests, which have continued in almost every town and city in Iran for the past 14 months, have often been led by or involved the participation of thousands of women. Female teachers, medical staff, students, factory workers and pensioners have taken to the streets to demand an end to corruption, an end to discrimination and repression and an end to the clerical regime's aggressive military adventurism across the Middle East. The chants of the protesters now openly call for regime change. It is clear

UN Publishes Amnesty's Call for Investigation Into Iran's 1988 Massacre of Political Prisoners

Image
An investigation into a dossier of crimes committed by the Iranian dictators has been called for, as a result of a statement issued by Amnesty International and published by the United Nations General Assembly. According to the statement, “Between late July and September 1988, the Iranian authorities forcibly disappeared and extrajudicially  executed thousands of prisoners  for their political opinions and dumped their bodies in unmarked individual and mass graves… Since then, the authorities have tormented the relatives by refusing to tell them when, how and why their loved ones were killed and by keeping their remains hidden. To reinforce secrecy, they have also destroyed mass grave sites and forbidden commemorations.” It is believed that over 30,000 political prisoners were killed — most of them members and supporters of the Iranian opposition People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran ( PMOI/MEK ). Now, Amnesty International is asking all countries to extend the mission o

Three Facts Contradict Shameful Lies By Der Spiegel Daydreamer

Image
Three facts contradict shameful lies by Der Spiegel daydreamers It has only been a few months since Der Spiegel magazine officially apologized to its readers for a number of baseless stories by its reporter Claas Relotius whom it subsequently fired. However, a new set of allegations in another article goes to prove that Relotius was just one of Der Spiegel daydreamers. Der Spiegel systematically and deplorably violates the principles of professional media, including freedom of speech and impartiality. Fact number 1: The suspicious timing of Der Spiegel’s fake allegations Indisputably, the regime ruling Iran is at its worst socio, economic and political state since its inception 40 years ago. The uprisings, protests and demonstrations that began in December 2017 continue unabated. By the incentivizing activities of “ resistance units ” (supporters of  People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran ) composed of young men and women, hope is taking the place of rampant fear and terror

Protests by Iranian teachers and retired government workers in front of the parliament On Sunday, a large crowd of Iranian teachers, educators and retired public sector workers gathered in front of the Majlis (parliament) to protest against the regime’s incompetency and neglect in responding to their most basic demands. The protests are taking place while the Majlis is discussing the budget for the next Persian year (starting March 21), which will also include the salaries of public sector workers. Protests by teachers, educators and retired government workers in front of the Majlis (Parliament)  “Given the continuation of the poor living conditions, especially for retirees, and the government’s lack of resolve to improve the situation, we will continue our protests until we reclaim our rights,” the retired workers have declared in a statement that has been widely distributed in social media channels. “Enough with the tyranny. We don’t have food to eat,” the protesters

Iran: Khamenei rep in Isfahan concerned of increasing PMOI/MEK popularity

Seyed Yousef Tabatabaie Nejad, representative of Iranian regime Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in Isfahan, central Iran Seyed Yousef Tabatabaie Nejad, representative of Iranian regime Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in Isfahan and Friday prayer imam of this city of central Iran expressed grave concerns over the increasing activities and measures of Iranian opposition People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran ( PMOI/MEK ) in line of toppling the mullahs’ regime. “Media channels and outlets that insult the state are taking steps in line with the objectives of the world arrogance and the  monafeqin, ” he said, using a term used by Iranian regime officials for the PMOI/MEK. “It is quite possible that the [PMOI/MEK] are behind many of the [social media] channels launched in Isfahan because they are aiming to target the clergy… the enemy has various media outlets inside the country and abroad. They are allocating a considerable budget and have high planning capabilities, aiming to deceive

EU Leaders Must Recognize the Threat Iran Regime Poses

Image
By Mahmoud Hakamian While some Western governments have tried appeasement policies with Iran and continue to financially support the regime in hopes of normalizing the country’s behavior, Tehran have given no indication that it plans to abandon its autocratic and militaristic tendencies. Even as the Islamic Republic faces economic chaos, and the EU attempts to develop a Special Purpose Vehicle to enable trade with Iran, its government has still failed to act on nine out of ten of the guidelines specified by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF). The intergovernmental group that combats money laundering and counter terrorist financing postponed imposing sanctions on Iran, and has now given Tehran until June to comply with anti-terror financial measures. Iran’s theocratic regime has a history of playing fast and loose with the truth. Khomeini told the Iranian people in 1979 that there would be freedom of expression, but instead the regime uses violence, detention, and repressio

Iran Used US to Destroy Iraq

Image
The Iranian government used George W. Bush and Barack Obama to promote its own interests and now Donald Trump is left to deal with the fallout. Bush was warned that Iran was the major threat in the Middle East, not Iraq; that the mullahs would make life hell for US troops if he invaded Iran; and that Iran wanted to take control of Iraq. But why? Well, Iraq was home to a group exiled from Iran, the People’s Mujahadeen of Iran ( PMOI/MEK ), who were fighting for a free Iran. The MEK has been a great threat to the continued rule of the mullahs since the early 1980s, which is why they’ve executed over 120,000 MEK members and smeared them as terrorists in the Western media. So when tensions between Iraq and the US flared up, Iran saw its opportunity. They used Ahmad Chalabi, an Iran-backed Iraqi politician, fed the US misleading information about Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction and offered to help the US meet with the head of Iran’s intelligence service. This led to the bombing
