Syrian Network for Human Rights calls for the release of all detained Syrian women

Thousands of women are held in horrible situation in Assad regime’s prisons The Syrian Network for Human Rights on Friday, March 8 th  issued a statement to mark the Women’s Day calling for the release of 7,721 women who have been detained by the Assad regime. The statement reads: “sexual exploitation of female inmates in prisons is continuing. At least half million people including 13,500 women are held in Assad’s notorious prisons.” Syrian Network for Human Rights said many dissidents in Assad prisons have been either killed under torture or have been executed. Syrian Network for Human Rights is an independent, neutral, non-governmental, non-profit human rights organization, which aims to document the ongoing human rights violation in Syria. Truckers in cities across Iran are launching a new round of strikes Truckers in cities across Iran are launching a new round of strikes, protesting not receiving answers to their demands and seeking the release of their arrested colleagues. In Najafabad, central Iran, truckers are on strike according to a previously made announcement encouraging all drivers to park their vehicles and launch a nationwide protest movement. There was no file or records about this arrest. I spoke to the deputy public prosecutor about my husband’s arrest and he said they had not issued any orders for his arrest. Hundreds of people, including a large number of women, were arrested in the protests gathering of dervishes in Tehran Seventy of the women arrested during the dervishes’ gathering in Golestan Haftom Ave. in Tehran, have been brutalized and taken to the Quarantine Ward 3 of the notorious Qarchak Prison in Varamin. With 40 women already detained in this ward, the addition of the new arrestees makes the ward overcrowded. There is no information available on the fate of other women arrested in the dervishes’ gathering. Hundreds of people, including a large number of women, were arrested in the protests gathering of dervishes in Tehran when suppressive forces attacked them on Monday night, February 19.
