Secretariat of the National Council of Resistance of Iran On Wednesday morning of November 21, the inhumane clerical regime, in a brutal act, hanged three prisoners collectively in public in Shiraz on the Mullah-made charge of moharebeh (fighting with God). While in spite of arbitrary arrests and all kinds of suppressive measures, protests by the various strata of the population, including the strikes and demonstrations of brave workers of Ahvaz Steel and Haft Tappeh Sugarcane, have been spreading, the clerical regime has resorted to public executions in order to step up the atmosphere of terror and to prevent an outbreak of people's anger. The Iranian Resistance calls on the all international human rights advocates, in particular the High Commissioner for Human Rights, the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Iran and the rapporteur on arbitrary executions, to condemn these brutal executions and to take immediate action to stop this medieval sentencing...

According to the latest report of the Amnesty International as reported in Iran Focus website, among all the recorded executions worldwide last year, more than 51 percent were carried out in Iran. Although second, behind China in terms of executions, Iran “carried out 84 percent of the global total number of executions.” The number of executions in Iran last year was 507, “accounting for 60 percent of all confirmed executions in the region.” Of the 507 people executed, “501 were men and six were women. German Commissioner for human rights The German government’s human rights commissioner on Wednesday condemned Iran’s reported execution of a man who was 15 years old when he committed his crime, calling it a completely unacceptable violation of international law.  Baerbel Kofler criticized Tehran’s reported execution of Ali Kazemi, 22, on Monday, and said the man’s attorney had not even been informed of the pending execution.  Kazemi had been accused of fatally wounding another youth in a brawl involving several other people.  Kofler urged Tehran to halt the planned execution of another man, Hamid Ahmadi, 27, who was 17 at the time of his alleged crime, saying there were “significant doubts” about whether the rule of law was sufficiently applied in his trial.  Ahmadi was convicted and sentenced to death in 2009, with the sentence reaffirmed in a second trial in 2016.  He was also accused of killing another youth with a knife during a group fight.
