IRGC Quds Force: Iran’s clandestine military empire

Image
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) Quds Force is involved in destructive activities across the region  Two international experts explained the threats and terrorist activities posed by Iran’s Revolutionary Guards ( IRGC ) Quds force across the Middle East. Seth G. Jones chair, director, and senior advisor to the Transnational Threats Project explained how the IRGC Quds Force is acting as the Iranian regime extraterritorial arm. “The IRGC Quds Force is Iran’s primary military actor in the Middle East. It competes with countries like the United States by training, advising, and equipping sub-state forces, including Shiite militias in  Iraq , Hezbollah in  Lebanon ,” Jones said in an interview “Iran’s goal with the base like in Lebanon is to improve the capabilities of its local actors,” Jones added.  He continued to say that Iran has such basis in  Syria , too, with the aim of bringing these actors from all over these locations for training. He also e...

World Must Support US's IRGC Designation

Image
London, 25 April - The US recently placed Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) on its list of foreign terrorist organisations, which is a bold move that complements the Treasury Department’s previous listing of the IRGC as a banned terror group. It was the first time that an entire division of a foreign government was formally labelled as a terrorist organization. This move was made because of increased Iranian aggression and regional interference in recent months, ever since Donald Trump took office, and that is a worrying prospect from the world’s leading state sponsor of terror. The IRGC was founded in 1979 to safeguard the revolution, which basically translates to crushing any and all detractors. Now, the 125,000-strong militia holds incredible influence over the political and economic spheres, with financial interests in the telecommunications, construction, energy and auto industries. They have their own army, air force and navy, control Iran’s nuclear and inte...

IRGC In Charge Of Suppression Of Iranian Women

FTO Designation of IRGC Weakens Pillars of Clerical Dictatorship in Iran The following article by Elham Zanjani, from the Women’s Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, on the role of the IRGC in suppression of women in Iran, appeared in the  newsblaze.com  on Tuesday, April 16, 2019. Last Monday, the US announced it designated the Iranian Regime’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO). This designation was a major blow to the theocratic regime by limiting its future actions. IRGC is the main apparatus of repression of the Iranian people, especially Iranian women, the primary driver of war and export of terrorism, and is responsible for pursuing nuclear weapons and missile projects. Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, described the inclusion of the suppressive Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) in the State Department’s list of Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTO) as...

Iran’s FATF crisis times IRGC’s terrorist designation

Image
The FATF crises escalates more than ever, haunting the mullahs’ regime In Iran, the fate of bills related to the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) remain a subject of controversy and infighting between the two factions of the political elite of the regime ruling Iran, while the  terrorist designation  of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps ( IRGC ) by the U.S. State Department has pushed the issue further in a crisis. Both factions argue the IRGC’s blacklisting proves that their particular approach is the best for the future of the ruling theocracy in Iran. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, a former member of the IRGC and former mayor of Tehran, who was previously opposed to the FATF bills, has now changed sides. Ghalibaf, a member of the Expediency Discernment Council, where the fate of the aforementioned bills is under review, acknowledged the current pressure on the ruling mullahs. “We can’t walk by the U.S. and other issues like FATF and ignore them. Their...

Iran regime orders IRGC proxies to suppress dissent

Image
Afghan militants, linked to the IRGC, stationing in the flood-hit city of Poledokhtar Fearing an outburst of anger and subsequent unrest in flood-stricken regions, the clerical regime ruling Iran has dispatched hundreds of its extraterritorial elements affiliated to the terrorist-designated Revolutionary Guards ( IRGC ) from Iraq and Afghanistan to the provinces of Lorestan and Khuzestan, in the west and southwest regions of the country, respectively. Under the pretext of assisting relief distribution efforts to the flood-hit areas or preventing floods from entering towns and villages, the IRGC uses these proxy units to, in fact, create a climate of fear and suppress any potential unrest. Following the dispatch of Hashd al-Shaabi militants (Popular Mobilization Forces/Popular Mobilization Units) from Iraq to Ahvaz earlier in the week, the IRGC-affiliated Fars News Agency reported that another group of these vicious elements, called “al-Nojaba,” affiliated to the terrorist IRGC...

The US brands Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps A ‘Terror Group’

Image
President Donald Trump announced on Monday, April 8, 2019, that the United States is designating Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) a foreign “terrorist organization” as part of an effort to increase international pressure on the country. It is the first time the US has labeled another nation’s military as a terrorist organization. The White House said the IRGC was Iran’s primary means of “implementing its global terrorist campaign”. This designation ends the façade that the IRGC is part of a normal military. Labeling the IRGC as a terrorist organization will allow the US to impose further sanctions – particularly affecting the business sector. The IRGC is not only Iran’s most powerful military force but also dominates the country’s key economic sectors, such as energy, construction, telecommunication, media, mining, electronics, automobile, banking, nuclear, and more. While IRGC leaders claim their involveme...
