Warning to Congress: Bad Iran Legislation Is Worse Than No Iran Legislation

Image
The U.S. Capitol Building  In October, President Donald Trump took an important step toward countering Iran’s ever-expanding list of illicit activities by refusing to certify to Congress that the flawed nuclear deal negotiated by the Obama administration remained in America’s national security interest. Now he needs to stop Congress from giving away the leverage he established. In unveiling a new U.S. policy toward Tehran, the president delivered a forceful indictment of both Iran and the nuclear agreement. From Iran’s continued development of nuclear-capable ballistic missiles to its refusal to allow international inspections at key military sites to its regional military expansion in Yemen, Syria, and Lebanon, the nuclear deal’s fundamental deficiencies made Iran stronger at the expense of U.S. national security. The president concluded his presentation with a clear warning to the world — fix this bad deal or America will bring back the toughest sanctions ever impos...

UN says missiles fired at Saudi Arabia have a 'common origin,' as US blames Iran

Houthi Shiite fighters guard a street leading to the residence of former Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh, in Sanaa, Yemen New York, The Sunday Morning Herald, Dec. 10, 2017  -  United Nations  officials have found that missiles fired at Saudi Arabia by Yemen's Houthi rebels appear to have a 'common origin,' but they are still investigating U.S. and Saudi claims that Iran supplied them, according to a confidential report. The officials travelled to Saudi Arabia to examine the debris of missiles fired on July 22 and November 4, wrote UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in the fourth biannual report on the implementation of UN sanctions and restrictions on Iran. They found 'that the missiles had similar structural and manufacturing features which suggest a common origin,' said Guterres in the Friday report to the UN Security Council, seen by Reuters on Saturday. The report comes amid calls by the United States for Iran to be held accountable for v...

Mrs. Maryam Rajavis speech in parliament at a meeting of Europe, at the invitation of the Committee of Friends of Free Iran December 6, 2017 The full text of Ms. Rajavi's speech at the European Parliament is below:  It is a great privilege to be here, once again, among the representatives of the people of Europe, men and women who are pioneers in the modern world in defending democracy and human rights. As I am standing here, today, the situation in Iran is reaching an explosive state. Last month a devastating earthquake in western Iran took a heavy toll. Nevertheless, it highlighted a number of major realities: * The extensive corruption pervading the regime, * the catastrophic state of the country’s infrastructures, * the government’s disability to solve the most basic problems of our people, * and the general solidarity with earthquake victims vis-à-vis the regime. Fearing eruption of the local people’s outrage, the regime dispatched its...

STATEMENT BY SASC CHAIRMAN JOHN McCAIN ON MURDER OF FORMER YEMENI PRESIDENT ALI ABDULLAH SALEH

Image
U.S. Senator John McCain, Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee Washington, D.C.  – U.S. Senator John McCain, Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, released the following statement today on the murder of former Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh: “The murder of former Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh after his decision to seek compromise with coalition forces and pursue a resolution to the conflict proves that the Houthis and their Iranian sponsors have no interest in peace. His murder is a major blow to moderate forces on both sides of the conflict in Yemen, diminishing any prospect for imminent resolution and likely leading to further violence—to the detriment of the Yemeni people. Iran’s unchecked ambition and aggression in the region have led to unprecedented violence and a major humanitarian crisis in Yemen. I hope that Saleh’s supporters and allies will continue his recent efforts to confront the Houthis and seek a peaceful en...

How Iran's People Suffer From Regime Belligerence

Image
Shocking images of Iranians forced to make homes out of graves.  From the early days of its rule Iran’s regime has been increasing economic pressure on the people, especially the lower class and most deprived. A vivid result of such practice has been the astonishing phenomenon of many Iranians willing to sell their  kidneys   and other organs, and even mothers pre-selling their unborn fetus. This is parallel to the growing phenomenon of child labor, a swelling number of homeless people roaming the streets and people even resorting to making homes out of graves. Tehran has a history of increasing domestic pressure and skyrocketing prices to provide for the 1980-88 Iran-Iraq War, exporting terrorism and fundamentalist across the region, and currently, the onerous finances needed to confront international sanctions and managing an economy in ruins. Iran’s regime has shown it cares less about such matters as billions are poured into various domestic and inte...

This file photo taken on August 20, 2016 shows USAs Jden Michael Tbory Cox (red) wrestling with Irans Alireza Mohammad Karimimachiani in their mens 86kg freestyle quarter-final match An Iranian wrestler says his managers told him to intentionally lose to a Russian competitor to avoid facing an Israeli wrestler in the next round. Ali Reza Karimi late Monday told the semi-official ISNA news agency that only one minute before the end of a Sunday round of the U-23 World Championship in Poland his coaches told him to throw the match to avoid facing an Israeli wrestler. He says: “In a moment, my whole world seemed to come to an end.” Israel and Iran are bitter adversaries and Iranian athletes traditionally refrain from competing against Israelis. Iran’s government usually rewards such behavior. Karimi says he was beating Russian Alikhan Zhabrailov when coaches told him to lose. Iran’s sport ministry in a statement praised Karimi for supporting “human values.”
