Resolution condemning Iran's human rights violations

 Senior Senator Ron Wyden sponsored a resolution at the United States Senate condemning the violation of human rights in Iran for persecuting religious minorities, particularly the Baha'is.
The resolution condemns the Government of Iran’s state-sponsored persecution of its Baha’i minority and its continued violation of the International Covenants on Human Rights.
Congress continuously declared that it deplored the religious persecution by the Government of Iran of the Baha’i community and would hold the Government of Iran responsible for upholding the rights of all Iranian nationals, including members of the Baha’i Faith;
The Senate:
Condemns the Government of Iran’s state-sponsored persecution of its Baha’i minority and its continued violation of the International Covenants on Human Rights;
Calls on the Government of Iran to immediately release the 5 imprisoned Baha’i leaders, the 7 imprisoned Baha’i educators, and all other prisoners held solely on account of their religion;
Calls on the President and the Secretary of State, in cooperation with responsible nations, to immediately condemn the Government of Iran’s continued violation of human rights and demand the immediate release of prisoners held solely on account of their religion; and
Urges the President and the Secretary of State to utilize available authorities to impose sanctions on officials of the Government of Iran and other individuals directly responsible for serious human rights abuses, including abuses against the Baha’i community of Iran.

The Iranian regime's consulate building in Afghanistan  Fazal Rahman Khadem, the director of terrorism for the Police Headquarters of Herat, Afghanistan, revealed that the Iranian regime’s consulate is behind the murder of his brother. Fazil Rahman Khadem stated, “All the serial targeted attacks in Herat took place on the directives of Mahmood Afkhami Rashidi, the Iranian high consul general in the province.” Over 134 persons were arrested in connection with the targeted murders. “Most of the detainees confessed that they targeted iconic personalities and high-ranking security officials in Herat by the directives of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and Iran’s security agents,” he added.
