Iran: Credit firm clients continuing their protests, demands
Protests in numerous cities of Iran
As gatherings by people from all walks of life continue across Iran, protesting poor living conditions and skyrocketing prices, clients of state-run credit firms are continuing to voice demands and seeking their stolen money returned.
Clients of the Caspian credit firm, known to be associated directly to the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC), rallied in Rasht, northern Iran, on Wednesday, protesting how their life savings have been plundered by the notorious institution.
“They betray us and no one answers,” was among the slogans chanted by these protesters.
In Mashhad, northeast Iran, clients of the Badr Toos credit firm rallied outside the city’s provincial governor office, demanding regime officials return their stolen assets.
“The government is bankrupt, sitting on our money – The media’s silence is in support of the thieves – We’ll get our money back, even if it costs us our lives,” were some of the chants heard from these angry protesters.
In Neyshabur, northeast Iran near Mashhad, a group of Caspian credit firm clients rallied outside the mayor’s office protesting the local officials’ refusal to respond to their demands.
In Tehran, the country’s capital, people who pre-purchased vehicles from the Meftah Rahnavard Company rallied outside the mullahs’ Majlis (parliament), protesting the company’s failure and refusal to deliver on the purchased vehicles.
Also in Tehran, store-owners of the Aladdin complex in the city’s mobile phone bazaar closed their shops and went on strike, protesting skyrocketing prices and low demands as a result.
Clients of state-backed credit firms, referred to as “deposit losers,” are just one sector of Iran’s society that is protesting on a daily basis and continuously causing major concerns for the ruling mullahs’ sitting on the throne in Tehran.
More protests reports:
In Karaj, west of Tehran, rail workers rallied on Wednesday to express their protests over not being paid for several months and strongly criticizing officials’ hollow promises. The protests are happening in parallel to similar protests by railway workers in different cities.
